On Monday Key Stage Two were visited by Will Sliney. Will is a comic book artist who co-created the Star Wars character Ren and works on Marvel Comics. His visit was the school’s prize for winning the Sky Arts Superhero competition – the winning entries were designed by James Bennie and Alice Hepple in Year 6. Will led an assembly to tell the children about his career and to give an insight into the many varied and different career opportunities in the world of art! He then ran masterclasses for Year 5 and 6 pupils – giving tips and tricks to help develop their drawing skills. All the children drew Spiderman alongside Will and there were some amazing results! This was a unique opportunity to create art alongside someone who does it as a career and many of our pupils were left inspired and encouraged to follow their future artistic dreams.
