Just Talk Week: A Celebration of Mental Health and Wellbeing!

What an incredible week it has been at William Ransom School! This week was dedicated to promoting mental health and wellbeing amongst our students through a variety of engaging activities. The theme this year was “Know yourself, Grow yourself,” encouraging our students to dive deeper into understanding themselves while cultivating their potential. Here are some Year 3 children showing their creativity in some challenges:
Throughout the week, different year groups had the fantastic opportunity to participate in mindfulness sessions led by the brilliant .breath organisation. These sessions provided a wonderful chance for students to pause, breathe, and reflect on their thoughts and feelings. But that’s not all! We also had a bouncy castle, fun movement and dance activities, and physical sessions that truly brought our school's spirit to life!
Here are some Year 1's outside having fun in the sun:
One of the highlights of the week was our focus on developing a growth mindset. We engaged students in discussions about how we can cultivate our abilities and intelligence through dedication, effort, and, most importantly, by learning from our mistakes! For instance, while one student might think, “I’m just not good at maths,” another, with a growth mindset, could confidently assert, “I can improve in maths with practice.” This mindset shift is so powerful and essential for fostering resilience. Here are Year 6 involved in some puzzles to 'escape a fixed mindset':

Thank you to everyone involved for making Just Talk Week a great success!
