Yr 6 PGL Bawdsey 2026

The coach is parked and Year 6 have safely arrived at Bawdsey Manor! While the weather outside might be wet and overcast, you wouldn't know it from the roaring chorus of excitement inside. Instead of dampening our spirits, the misty skies have given the manor a legendary, mysterious vibe - perfect for the two-night adventure we're about to embark on. From climbing walls to team challenges, we're ready to brave the elements and make this an unforgettable trip. Adventure awaits!

The grey clouds didn't stand a chance against Year 6! True to form, the rain passed over quickly, giving way to an action-packed afternoon where the real Bawdsey Manor magic began.

Our adventurers wasted no time diving straight into the deep end, tackling a thrilling mix of orienteering, climbing, archery, and the always popular giant swing! Whether they were scaling vertical walls, aiming for the bullseye, or defying gravity with a leap of faith, the determination and teamwork on display today was a real treat to see.

Between the adrenaline rushes, we managed to conquer our next big mission: unpacking! Bags are now successfully sorted and rooms are officially set up for the night.

After burning off all that energy, a big dinner was exactly what was needed and the refectory was full of chatter as everyone swapped stories from their afternoon triumphs. But the day isn't over yet! With full bellies and unstoppable spirits, we are currently on our way to our first big evening event: the "PGL Games."

Everyone is having a great time and the first day of our adventure is ending on a massive high -with everyone making memories to last a lifetime!

After a night of much-needed rest, Day 2 at Bawdsey is officially underway! The children slept incredibly well, waking up refreshed, recharged, and ready to take on the world. Following a hearty, full breakfast to fuel up for the day, the energy levels are right back at an all-time high.

As you read this, we are already on our way to our first round of activities. Today’s line-up is nothing short of epic: the children will be testing their engineering skills with raft building, finding their focus with rifle shooting, bouncing into action with aeroball and taking a literal leap of faith!

It is only our first morning, but already, the children are showing resilience and bravery as they step out of their comfort zones. Everyone is having a fabulous time, lifting each other up and tackling each new challenge with a smile.

We’ve got a massive day of thrills ahead of us, all leading up to a classic campfire this evening. The sun is out, the spirits are high and the adventure continues!

What a phenomenal day it has been! Day 2 has officially delivered on every front and everyone has had an absolutely fabulous time!
The elements tried to throw a bit of drama our way this afternoon with some passing showers and a short, spectacular thunder and lightning storm, but Year 6 didn’t blink. It only added to the grand adventure! We successfully dodged the downpours, keeping our spirits dry and our enthusiasm completely unbothered by the weather.
With the storm clearing, we embarked on a highly anticipated and vital expedition to the Bawdsey Manor gift shop! There was a wonderful buzz as the children browsed the shelves, carefully counting out their coins and picking out some brilliant souvenirs to bring home.
Right now, we are on our way to the dining room for a well-deserved dinner to recharge our batteries. The perfect finale to this epic day is just around the corner, as we’ll be heading out to the cozy glow of the campfire tonight to swap stories, sing songs, and celebrate everything we've conquered together.
Morale is high and we are ready to enjoy our final night together in style!

And just like that, the final morning is here!
Our final night was just as peaceful as the first, with everyone sleeping incredibly well. Any lingering dreams were swiftly and cheerfully dispelled at 6:30 AM, courtesy of Mrs Halliwell waking everyone with a spirited rendition of the "Good morning" song!
The children have been absolute superstars this morning. Rooms have been cleared, beds stripped, and bags packed with military precision. With a hearty final breakfast eaten and everyone fueled up, we are just about to head out to enjoy our last two activities of the trip.
Four of our groups are heading off to conquer the vertical walls and navigation challenges of climbing and orienteering, while one group takes on the high-energy bounces of aeroball and the gravity-defying drops of the giant swing. We are determined to squeeze every last drop of adventure out of our time here!
Our current plan is to say a fond farewell to Bawdsey Manor and leave the site at 2:00 PM. We are working on an anticipated return time back at school of approximately 4:45 PM. We will keep you updated if traffic throws any delays our way, but for now, we are heading out for one last burst of PGL fun! See you all very soon!
