Make a mummy!

In history this week, Elm performed the mummification process to see how wealthy people like pharaohs might have been turned into mummies. First, we prepared the body by washing and removing the organs. Then, the organs were put into canopic jars (except the heart). After that, we dried the body using natron (salt) and spices to fragrance. Finally, we wrapped the body in bandages before laying it to rest in a sarcophagus, with some personal items. Did you know...the Ancient Egyptians sometimes turned animals into mummies too? Make a mummy!
