Cedar class visit Mountfitchet Castle

As part of their History and DT work, Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Mountfitchet Castle.
They learnt a huge amount about castle life in 1066 as they explored the castle grounds. They saw the Grand Hall where the Baron would have lived, the church, the blacksmith and the surgeon. They also saw the jail and a few torture devices! There were lots of animals roaming the grounds - goats, deer, peacocks and chickens to name a few. We also had a quick look around the Toy Museum while we were there. We saw lots of very old toys and some rather creepy-looking dolls! It was an excellent day out, and we all had a really great time!
